HELP HARVEY victims and HELP IRMA Victims

We see the images of destruction, survival in the Houston area following catastrophic flooding from Hurricane Harvey. Now it's time to help.

RED CROSS

You can go online HERE to donate to the Red Cross online. You can also call 1-800-RED CROSS or text the word HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 contribution. When you go online there is an option to designate your donation to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

SPRINGFIELD'S CONVOY OF HOPE

Springfield's Convoy of Hope already has its team for recovery efforts on the ground in Texas. CLICK HERE to donate to the relief organization.

SALVATION ARMY

The Salvation Army is also assisting the victims of the massive flooding devastation. You can call (800) 725-2769. Or click HERE to donate to that organization.

We’ve checked out some reputable websites for those of you that want to donation to help Hurricane Harvey victims.  There are dozens out there, but not all of them are going to be legitimate.  Here’s a few to pass along that we’ve checked out for you:

Donate $10 to Red Cross relief efforts by texting HARVEY to 90999.  You’ll be billed $10 on your next cell phone statement. It will show that it was a donation to help Hurricane Harvey victims.

You can also donate directly to these sites:
 www.redcross.org

www.americares.org

www.convoyofhope.org

Highly recommend visiting   www.charitynavigator.org   not only can a person donate to a cause through this site, but you can check out other sites that you might question.  Scroll down their home page and look for the ‘Charity Navigator Advisories” link and click.

You can also look for “The BBB Accredited Charity”  logo on a website. This is the Better Business Bureau.  You’ll not find these logos on all sites and that doesn’t mean they aren’t reputable, but the top rated sites will usually have it along with ‘Charity Navigator’ logo.

Authorities are suggesting to stay away from GoFundMe pages unless you personally know the person that put it up.  Already have numerous reports of scammers using photos and names of others to get your money in their own pockets. Be VERY CAUTIOUS of GoFundMe pages or any other social media posted sites on Face Book or through Instant Messenger.

We can all help in some way-just make sure it’s actually going to help those in need, not those in want.

One thing we can ALL do it PRAY--
